Biden Will Run For President If Jill Gives Him Permission

Despite being the oldest and one of the most unpopular presidents in modern history, Joe Biden seems intent on running for president in 2024, and now we know why. Jill Biden wants him to do it, and she’s the one who’s in charge.

The Washington Post reported, “In an interview that aired Friday, MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart quoted Biden’s 2017 autobiography, “Promise Me, Dad,” in which the president wrote that Beau had insisted he run for the office in 2016, saying that his father had a duty to do so. Capehart asked what words Beau — who died of brain cancer in 2015 — would have for those who say Biden should not run again because of his age.

“The only reason to be involved in public life is: Can you make life better for other people?” Biden answered. “Depending on who the opponent is, if they have a view that is so the antithesis of what I believe democracy [is], and I believe is good for average Americans, then, his argument was, ‘Dad, you have an obligation to do something.'”

When asked if the first lady supports a 2024 run, Biden nodded and paused before providing a full answer. “My wife thinks that we’re doing something very important and that I shouldn’t walk away from it,” he said.

But Biden said he was not yet formally declaring his candidacy, because once he does, a “whole series of regulations kick in, and I have to treat myself as a candidate from that moment on.

The interview with Capehart contained a moment that showed why Biden probably should not run again. The president seemed to zone out for a few seconds after being asked if Jill wanted him to run again.

The New York Post noted, “Biden, 79, would be 86 years old at the end of his term if he was re-elected in 2024. He has not officially declared another White House run as Democrats worry about his electability and mental well-being in his old age.

Nearly two-thirds of Americans — including a majority of Democrats — have said they are at least “somewhat concerned” about President Biden’s mental health, according to a Issues & Insights/TIPP poll published earlier this month.

Concerns over Biden’s mental health jumped 13 points among Democrats from August following Biden’s shocking gaffe in which he tried to recognize an Indiana congresswoman — forgetting she had died earlier this year.”

The elderly president has made a habit of revealing how out of touch he has become while living in the White House. Recently, in response to a question about gas prices in California, the president told a reporter that gas has “always” been $7 a gallon in California, according to Fox News.

“The inflation report is out. Have you seen gas prices around here in LA? It’s 7 bucks a gallon almost,” a reporter asked Biden as he paid for food at a Los Angeles-based taco shop.

“Well, that’s always been the case here,” Biden replied. “You know, it’s not — what — nationwide, [gas prices] came down about $1.35, and they’re still down over a dollar. But we’re going to work on, housing is the big, is the most important thing we have to do in terms of that.”

We noted earlier in the week: “As inflation has crippled our economy and caused panic at the Federal Reserve, the president has gone from changing definitions, then to denial, then to blaming anyone and anything but himself. First, he condemned “the Putin price hike,” then he accused local gas stations of price gouging, and most recently, he pointed to OPEC because they wouldn’t cut oil prices before the upcoming elections, which essentially was asking the Saudis to interfere in our election.”

Biden has begun trying to blame Republicans for the disastrous consequences of his economic policies.

The president also revealed how out of touch he is while eating ice cream in Portland, Oregon after being asked if he had any concerns about the value of the dollar amidst inflation.

Fox News explained, “With a chocolate chip ice cream cone in his hand, Biden answered, ‘I’m not concerned about the strength of the dollar. I’m concerned about the rest of the world. Our economy is strong as hell.’

He added: ‘Inflation is worldwide. It’s worse off than it is in the United States. So the problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries not so much ours. It’s worldwide inflation. It’s consequential.'”

Biden’s approval rating has become an anchor on Democrats as the midterm elections near. The New York Times reported, “President Biden’s low profile on the campaign trail reflects a low approval rating that makes him unwelcome in some congressional districts and states at a pivotal moment before the midterms.”

“Nearly two years into his presidency, Joe Biden’s job rating stands at 38% – identical to Donald Trump’s approval rating at a similar point in his presidency, but lower than those of some other recent presidents in the run-up to their first midterm election,” Pew documented.
