When Democrats tell you what they think, you should believe them. Ever since the Supreme Court ruled that legislatures should write laws regulating abortion rather than the courts mandating it, they’ve said that they’ll do anything to protect and promote abortion. They are so committed to promoting abortion that they’re willing to undermine democracy and attack elected officials who have passed laws, won’t condemn violence perpetrated by abortion radicals, and will even deploy SWAT teams from the DOJ to arrest pro-lifers.
We recently noted that President Biden refused to condemn attacks by radical pro-choicers against MLK’s former church. Now it appears that Kamala has let the cat out of the bag by doing what she does best: accidentally telling people what liberals really believe. In a speech celebrating the 50th anniversary of Roe v Wade, Harris showed that Democrats do not believe in the right to life, a stunning admission that accidentally “says the quiet part out loud.”
Fox News writes, “Vice President Kamala Harris left out mentioning the right to life when quoting the Declaration of Independence on Sunday during a speech in support of abortion access.
Harris’ remarks in Tallahassee, Florida, came on the 50-year-anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade, which granted women the right to an abortion nationwide. The anniversary is the first since the decision was overturned in June 2022, allowing states to set their own abortion laws.
But in Harris’ speech, she quoted the Declaration of Independence in saying that Americans are entitled to the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness, notably ignoring how that the phrase also states Americans are granted the right to life.
“We collectively believe and know, America is a promise … It is a promise of freedom and liberty,” the vice president said. “Not just some, but for all. A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence, that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Be clear, these rights were not bestowed upon us, they belong to us as Americans.”
As we all know, the Declaration actually reads, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
The speech also showed that, like Donald Trump, the Biden White House believes that Ron DeSantis is its biggest rival. Harris attacked the Florida governor for signing an abortion law that makes abortion in the state unlawful after 15 weeks. The only exceptions provided by the state legislatures are if the procedure is needed to save the life of the pregnant woman or prevent serious injury to the baby.
The vice president said, “Here in Florida, healthcare providers face prison — prison for up to five years for simply doing their job.
And now the state has also targeted medication abortion and even threatened Florida pharmacists with criminal charges if they provide medications prescribed by medical professionals.”
Harris has notoriously gone back and forth on bodily autonomy. During the 2020 campaign, she said that if “Trump says to take the vaccine, I won’t” but later defended vaccine mandates once Biden was in control of the White House.
For liberals like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, the right to life rests solely on whether or not they are in charge of your life. It’s especially pernicious to separate the right to life from the rights to liberty and happiness because the latter two are inherently connected to the first. You cannot be free and cannot be happy if you do not have the right to life.
By removing the right to life when speaking about the Declaration of Independence, Harris accidentally showed that she respects no rights for the rest of us unless defending them gives herself the power of control.
