The FBI has begun to obstruct a congressional commitee’s investigation into the Biden (Crime?) Family. Last week the House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and Senate Republican Charles Grassley revealed that the FBI was in possession of a document proving that Joe Biden took bribes while serving as vice president.
The House subpoenaed the document, but the Bureau had a message for Congress: get bent.
The FBI on Wednesday rejected a request from House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer to provide access to sensitive law enforcement materials that some congressional Republicans insist will reveal criminal activity involving Joe Biden from when he was vice president, writes Fox News.
Comer, R-Ky., along with Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had initially requested the materials in a letter May 3 to the FBI, citing what they called “highly credible unclassified whistleblower disclosures” about an unclassified document detailing “an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.”
In his subpoena, Comer demanded that the FBI produce what are known as FD-1023 forms — records of interactions with confidential sources — created or modified in June 2020 including the word “Biden,” along with any accompanying attachments or other documents.
The FBI responded in a letter Wednesday, with Christopher Dunham, the acting assistant director for congressional affairs, saying that while the FBI was committed to “beginning the constitutionally mandated accommodation process,” it was also bound by Justice Department policy, which “strictly limits when and how confidential human source information can be provided outside of the FBI.”
“Often, even confirming the fact of the existence (or nonexistence) of an investigation or a particular piece of investigative information can risk these serious harms,” Dunham wrote, adding that it was “standard practice” for law enforcement agencies to decline to confirm or deny such facts.
On Wednesday, Comer showed that several Biden family members had created shell corporations in order to receive millions of dollars from foreign agents.
The news follows on the heels of a whistleblower outlining the corruption that has been going on at the FBI. A respected former federal prosecutor approached the U.S. Justice Department in the fall 2018 on behalf of a foreign witness who claimed to have seen Joe Biden exercise influence “to protect” his son’s employer in Ukraine in return for money to his family.
Rather than following up on the tip, the FBI instead attacked the prosecutor. New Conservative Post wrote, “The agency did not follow up on the ex-prosecutor’s top and instead accessed his phone records in order to determine his contacts.
“I can’t really imagine a legitimate reason for the DOJ not to follow up on an offer like that. I felt like it was stonewalled,” said Cummins.
“It doesn’t make much sense to investigate the guy who brings you the allegation rather than the allegation,” he added. Cummins later called the retaliation from the DOJ “perverse.”
In refusing to release the document, however, the Bureau may have accidentally proven that the evidence of Biden’s wrongdoing was there.
“Grassley, in a statement, said that the FBI opening the door to an accommodation process ‘indicates the document is real,’ according to Politico.
‘So the question remains, what did the FBI do to investigate very serious allegations from an apparent trusted FBI source implicating then-Vice President Biden?’ he added.
Comer, who issued the subpoena, added that they ‘asked the FBI to not only provide this record, but to also inform us what it did to investigate these allegations. The FBI has failed to do both.’”
The chairman also noted that “based on whistleblower disclosures, the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation possess an unclassified FD-1023 form that describes an alleged criminal scheme involving then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions. It has been alleged that the document includes a precise description of how the alleged criminal scheme was employed as well as its purpose.”
During the Trump administration, the FBI constantly had leaks about its investigations, often based on a fake dossier, into the president. Now that there’s a Democrat in office, they can’t even comply with a basic request for a document?
