Why, these critics have asked, should normal people, working hard and trying to live their lives in peace, even care what happens in Cambridge, Massachusetts?
A recent disturbing poll reveals how the dangerous worldview of the leftwing elites at some of the Ivy Leagues has already begun to impact all of us.
In the words of conservative political commentator Andrew Breitbart, “politics is downstream from culture,” and the culture, at least within the Democratic Party, is changing.
The Times of Israel reports that one-fifth of US citizens between the ages of 18 and 29 believe that the Holocaust is a myth, according to a new poll from the Economist/YouGov.
The poll was conducted between December 2 and December 5, and among other issues, examined the beliefs held by US citizens on Israel, Jewish people and the Holocaust.
In response to the statement “The Holocaust is a myth,” 20 percent of participants between the ages of 18 and 29 said that they agreed with it, and an additional 30% said that they did not agree or disagree.
In comparison, 8% of people between the ages of 30-44 agreed with the statement, as did 2% of people aged 45-64. However, of those over the age of 65 who were surveyed, 0% agreed with the statement and just 2% said that they neither agreed nor disagreed.
The sentiment has already begun to impact the way Democrats operate. Terrified of losing the youth vote next November and already seeing his party being captured by pro-Hamas actors, Joe Biden’s actions have spoken louder than his words of support for one of America’s closest allies.
Afraid of continuing the backlash from his far-left base, the president excluded the families of American hostages taken by Hamas last October to the White House Hanukkah reception earlier in the week.
CNN writes, “Several family members of US citizens believed to have been taken hostage by Hamas had asked to attend a Hanukkah reception at the White House Monday night but never received invitations, the father of a 19-year-old missing Israeli American told CNN.
Ruby Chen, whose son Italy is a reservist missing since the militant group’s October 7 attacks on Israel, said a number of the families of American hostages were in Washington, DC, this week, and had reached out to the White House asking to attend the reception but were not invited.
The reception, which celebrated the fifth night of Hanukkah, featured some 800 guests, according to the White House, including Holocaust survivors, lawmakers and various Jewish leaders.
Speaking at the event, President Joe Biden touted the work his administration has been doing to try to a secure the release of the remaining hostages and to get humanitarian aid into Gaza. He said he had spent ‘probably up to 20 hours’ working with Israeli, Qatari and Egyptian counterparts on both fronts.”
The White House has said that seven American men and one woman remain unaccounted for. Among those initially missing, four Americans, including a 4-year-old girl and three women, have been released.
The president has appeared to be confused when discussing the hostages at times. Over Thanksgiving weekend, Biden touted the work to free hostages, but was unable to secure all of the Americans, stating during a press conference that he did not know all of the details.
“We don’t know when that will occur [inaudible] but we expect it to occur. And we don’t know what the list of all the hostages are and when they’ll be released. But we know the numbers that are going to be released. It is my hope and my expectation it’ll be soon,” Biden said during a press conference touting the deal.
One hostage that was released, however, just so happened to have given Hunter Biden hundreds of thousands of dollars by purchasing some of his “artwork.”
“The American kidnap victim released by the terrorist group Hamas during its ongoing ceasefire with Israel is a great-niece of Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, a major Democratic party donor who paid handsomely for Hunter Biden’s art and won an appointment to a plum cultural post from President Biden,” reported Real Clear Investigations.
There’s a reason Democrats have been treading lightly. Last month their headquarters were attacked by a group of mostly young activists who surrounded the party’s DC office near the Capitol. The mobbing was declared scarier than January 6, 2021, by one Democratic congresswoman.
Over this past weekend, Biden got a taste of anti-Israel protesters. In Los Angeles, a mob, again mostly made up of young people, attacked a Jewish neighborhood while the president was hosting a fundraiser nearby.
“It was like a scene in downtown Tehran orchestrated by Iran’s ruling mullahs, one of those “spontaneous” protests in Ramallah on the West Bank, or from 1938 Germany as the Nazis whipped up antisemitic hate in preparation for Kristallnacht — and worse,” noted PJ Media.
“But it was modern-day Los Angeles on Friday night, the second night of Hanukkah, when a mob marched through a largely Jewish neighborhood chanting death threats to Jews.
According to StopAntisemitism, the mob also defaced several buildings, including synagogues.”

It’s hard not to tie the poll showing how many young adults think the Holocaust is a myth with the mobs being tacitly supported by Ivy League presidents on campus and off while the White House just closes his eyes and wishes it would all go away.
