It’s been a bad couple of days for the Democrats’ favorite looney leftwing caucus in the House of Representatives—the Squad. Earlier, New Conservative Post reported that Rep. Ilhan Omar is facing calls for expulsion after announcing that she held her loyalty to Somalia higher than the oath she took as a member of Congress.
Now, Cori Bush, another member, is under investigation for spending an extraordinary amount of campaign money for “security” provided by her husband.
The investigation, announced by the Department of Justice, is especially galling since Bush has been one of the loudest advocates for defunding police departments around the country.
Last year, the congresswoman from Missouri was confronted for her hypocrisy.
NBC News reports that Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., a key progressive and former Black Lives Matter organizer, is being investigated by the Justice Department for her campaign’s spending on security services, she confirmed in a statement Tuesday.
DOJ had recently issued a grand jury subpoena to the House sergeant at arms for documents, a development that was made public on the House floor on Monday. But the focus of the federal probe was not revealed at that time.
Two sources confirmed Monday night that DOJ was probing a Democratic lawmaker’s use of security funds, but the member remained unidentified. PunchBowl News first reported Tuesday that Bush, who represents St. Louis, is the Democrat under investigation.
Bush, who ousted longtime Rep. Lacy Clay in the 2020 Democratic primary, came under scrutiny last February when she married her security guard, Cortney Merritts, then kept him on her campaign payroll for providing security services, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Bush, in her statement Tuesday, acknowledged that she retained her husband as part of her security team “because he has had extensive experience in this area, and is able to provide the necessary services at or below a fair market rate.”
NBC News reviewed Bush’s campaign spending and revealed that “below a fair market rate” meant shelling out $756,748.42 to her husband for his security services.
Last November, the House of Representatives expelled Republican George Santos for similar charges.
On top of the developing scandals for Omar and Bush, another Squad member, Jamaal Bowman, famous for pulling a fire alarm last year in an effort to delay a vote he did not like, has been called out for old conspiracy theories he posted online while serving as a school principal.
The New York Post writes, “Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), who represents the Bronx and Westchester County, espoused conspiracy theories about the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks while serving as a public high school principal, it was revealed this week.
Bowman — a member of the liberal House ‘Squad’ that also includes Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) — kept a blog that claimed World Trade Center building Number 7 was destroyed in a controlled demolition and that hijacked Flight 93 and Flight 77 caused minimal damage and left behind little debris.
Bowman, 47, claimed that Osama bin Laden, a Saudi native, was “blamed” for the attacks as an excuse to wage war in Afghanistan, when in fact the terror leader had openly taken credit for the massacre.”
Extensive investigations determined that Building 7 fell due to debris from the Twin Towers striking it and igniting a fire while hijackers flew Flight 77 into the Pentagon in Virginia. Flight 93 crashed in rural Pennsylvania after passengers fought back against the hijackers.
Some of the 9-11 Was An Inside Job posts written by Bowman were poems, which can be read here:

Refusing to be left of the leftwing nuttiness of her Squad peers. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez defnded a UN organization that has thousands of employees connected with Hamas, 12 of whom directly participated int he October 7 terrorist attacks against Israel that killed or kidnapped hundreds of women and children.
Cutting off support to @UNRWA – the primary source of humanitarian aid to 2 million+ Gazans – is unacceptable.
Among an organization of 13,000 UN aid workers, risking the starvation of millions over grave allegations of 12 is indefensible.
The US should restore aid immediately.

AOC was slammed for her comments.
The far-left would defund the police but fund terrorists.
10% of UNRWA staff in Gaza have links to terror groups, while 49% of UNRWA staff have close relatives who are members of Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad. UNRWA can’t be trusted with a cent of U.S. taxpayer money. https://t.co/eFBqicF7j1

The U.S. State Department halted funding after reports revealed a link between American aid dollars and the brutal Hamas attacks last year.
“The Department of State has temporarily paused additional funding for UNRWA while we review these allegations and the steps the United Nations is taking to address them,” said State Department spokesman Matthew Miller.
This was not the first time the New York Democrat has been accused of being a Hamas sympathizer.
