A new investigation has revealed that Donald Trump was right. It appears the Obama White House, via the international intelligence community, did, in fact, create a spy ring inside the Trump campaign by targeting over two dozen associates of Trump to be put under surveillance.
Former CIA Director John Brennan identified and presented the targets to the America’s intelligence-sharing partners, nicknamed the “Five Eyes” agencies. The intelligence-gathering organizations included the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
The move eventually led to allegations that the former president had deep ties to Russia, which plagued Trump during his first term.
Public revealed that the new information fills many gaps in our understanding of the Russia collusion hoax and is supported by testimony already in the public record.
Until now, the official story has been that the FBI’s investigation began after Australian intelligence officials told US officials that a Trump aide had boasted to an Australian diplomat that Russia had damning material about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
In truth, the US IC asked the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance to surveil Trump’s associates and share the intelligence they acquired with US agencies, say sources close to a House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HSPCI) investigation. The Five Eyes nations are the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
After Public and Racket had been told that President Barack Obama’s CIA Director, John Brennan, had identified 26 Trump associates for the Five Eyes to target, a source confirmed that the IC had “identified [them] as people to ‘bump,’ or make contact with or manipulate. They were targets of our own IC and law enforcement — targets for collection and misinformation.”
The investigation also explained that “if the top-secret documents exist proving these charges, they are potentially proof that multiple US intelligence officials broke laws against spying and election interference.”
Barack Obama might want to start paying closer attention to the immunity case involving Donald Trump. If Trump is found liable for “crimes” that happened during his time in the White House, it appears Obama would, as well.
The investigation into the CIA has made some circle back to the John Durham report, which showed how liberals in the FBI used the “Russia hoax” to push the impeachment of Trump.
Last spring, Special Counsel John Durham, who had been in charge of investigating the FBI’s spying on the Trump campaign, released a report showing that the Obama administration had “no real evidence that then-candidate Donald Trump colluded with Russian government officials when it launched its investigation into the Trump campaign leading up to the 2016 election,” noted The Federalist.
“‘Indeed, based on the evidence gathered in the multiple exhaustive and costly federal investigations of these matters, including the instant investigation, neither the U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion in their holdings at the commencement of the Crossfire Hurricane Investigation,’ the report reads.
The baseless investigation into the Trump campaign started after Australian intelligence notified the FBI about “concerning comments” from George Papadopoulos, an unpaid foreign policy advisor for the Trump team, about the Russians purportedly having dirt on Hillary Clinton’s campaign. In his report, Durham details the recklessness with which leading FBI officials, such as then-Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and then-Deputy Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Peter Strzok, launched Crossfire Hurricane and further revealed that the FBI did not possess evidence of Trump-Russia collusion as late as March 2017.
The FBI launched a full investigation ‘without (i) any significant review of its own intelligence databases, (ii) collection and examination of any relevant intelligence from other U.S. intelligence agencies, (iii) interviews of witnesses essential to understand the raw information it had received or (iv) using any of the standard analytical tools typically employed by the FBI in evaluating raw intelligence,” the report reads. “In addition, FBI records prepared by Strzok in February and March 2017 show that at the time of the opening of Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI had no information in its holdings indicating that at any time during the campaign anyone in the Trump campaign had been in contact with any Russian intelligence officials.’”
The CIA’s interference in the 2020 election is also under examination by the House Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The investigation, led by GOP Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, aims to uncover the extent of the CIA’s involvement in soliciting signatures for a letter discrediting Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop as “Russian disinformation,” something that was known to be a false narrative at the time.
The letter was signed by former intelligence officials. In May last year, the Weaponization Committee’s report revealed the CIA’s central role in this matter. Recently, Chairman Jordan sent a letter to CIA Director William Burns seeking information on how many of the signatories were on the agency’s payroll.
