By There are two sets of rules. One for Democrats and one for everyone else. On Wednesday, Capitol Police again reaffirmed this reality by declining to prosecute one of the more grotesque acts recently in the Senate.
In December, Aidan Maese-Czeropski, a staffer of Democratic Senator Ben Cardin, was caught filming sex acts in a Senate Judiciary Committee room.
“The room carries significant historical distinctions. It hosted the 9/11 commission hearings, and James Comey, the former FBI director, gave his testimony on Donald Trump there in 2017. The then Senate majority leader Tom Daschle received an anthrax-laced letter there in October 2001 just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the room saw supreme court justice Sonia Sotomayor became the first Latina to attend nomination hearings for the nation’s highest court, noted The Guardian.
Ironically, Maese-Czeropski, who posted the video on a text thread for gay congressional staffers, had previously gotten in hot water after allegedly yelling “Free Palestine” at a Jewish congressman. He was subsequently fired by Senator Cardin, which for a liberal is apparently punishment enough.
Despite clearly committing a crime with video evidence to back it up, the Capitol Police have decided not to press charges.
“For now, we are closing the investigation into the facts and circumstances surrounding a sex video that was recorded inside the Hart Senate Office Building on the morning of Wednesday, December 13. After consulting with federal and local prosecutors, as well as doing a comprehensive investigation and review of possible charges, it was determined that – despite a likely violation of Congressional policy – there is currently no evidence that a crime was committed,” U.S. Capitol Police said in a statement, The Daily Caller writes.
“Although the hearing room was not open to the public at the time, the Congressional staffer involved had access to the room. The two people of interest were not cooperative, nor were the elements of any of the possible crimes met. The Congressional staffer, who has since resigned from his job, exercised his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent and refused to talk to us. Our investigators are willing to review new evidence should any come to light,” the police continued.
The Daily Caller first obtained leaked amateur pornography showing a congressional staffer having anal sex with an unknown man in the Senate hearing room. The alleged staffer can also be seen in a photo, naked on all fours, looking back at the camera on the table where senators often sit to ask questions during a hearing.
A source identified the room to the Daily Caller as Senate room Hart 216, the Judiciary Room.
This is not the first time this congressional session in which Capitol Police have turned a blind eye to Democrats behaving badly. Democratic Jamaal Bowman was caught on video “setting off a false fire alarm on September 30 as Democrats were stalling for time to review a Republican-written stopgap spending bill unveiled just moments before a vote. The false alarm prompted an evacuation of the building and contributed to the mayhem that day as Congress rushed to stave off a government shutdown set to begin that night.
Mr. Bowman said in a statement at the time, and reiterated on the House floor on Wednesday, that he had not intended to set off the alarm, and had done so by accident as he was rushing to the Capitol and the door he typically exited from would not open.
‘I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused,’ Mr. Bowman said in the previous statement. ‘But I want to be very clear: This was not me, in any way, trying to delay any vote. It was the exact opposite — I was trying urgently to get to a vote,'” reported The New York Times.
Video of the incident showed that it was clearly not an accident.

Bowman was eventually charged with a misdemeanor and paid a fine.
According to the Justice Department, over 1,265 defendants have been charged in nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia in connection to the mobbing of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Many of whom merely entered the building.
Approximately 1,186 defendants have been charged with entering or remaining in a restricted federal building or grounds. More than 332 defendants have been charged with corruptly obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding, or attempting to do so.
In 2022, California Rep. Adam Schiff helped nine CBS staffers working for late-night television host Stephen Colbert break into the Capitol to provide “unauthorized reconnaissance” on Republicans.
Despite being caught by Capitol Police, they were not charged with a crime.
