Senior Editor Blows Whistle On Corruption At NPR

NPR’s senior business editor, Uri Berliner, recently penned a comprehensive critique of NPR’s handling of significant news events in recent years, including the Hunter Biden laptop saga and the COVID lab leak theory.

In what almost reads as a confession, he highlighted how Trump’s election 2016 made the outlet go off the deep end, tying itself to figures who made claims they hoped were true, like Adam Schiff, and turning NPR into a leftwing propaganda machine.

Here’s what your tax money is funding:

Berliner writes that “back in 2011, although NPR’s audience tilted a bit to the left, it still bore a resemblance to America at large. Twenty-six percent of listeners described themselves as conservative, 23 percent as middle of the road, and 37 percent as liberal.

By 2023, the picture was completely different: only 11 percent described themselves as very or somewhat conservative, 21 percent as middle of the road, and 67 percent of listeners said they were very or somewhat liberal. We weren’t just losing conservatives; we were also losing moderates and traditional liberals.

An open-minded spirit no longer exists within NPR, and now, predictably, we don’t have an audience that reflects America.”

The NPR journalist also spoke about the way that the publically-funded outlet purposely ignored the Hunter Biden laptop story because it might hurt Joe Biden’s chances to defeat Donald Trump.

Berliner, who has won multiple awards while working at NPR, writes that “the laptop was newsworthy. But the timeless journalistic instinct of following a hot story lead was being squelched. During a meeting with colleagues, I listened as one of NPR’s best and most fair-minded journalists said it was good we weren’t following the laptop story because it could help Trump.”

No doubt the liberal journalists at NPR told themselves that they were “defending democracy” by hiding damning evidence that the Democratic challenger to the Republican incumbent in the White House had large connections to foreign oligarchs.

The New York Post explained that they “published the contents of emails taken from the laptop, which shed light on Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and China while his father, Joe Biden, was vice president during the Obama administration.

Initially, national security experts and former intelligence officials declared the laptop a hoax and was the product of a Russian disinformation campaign.

Social media sites like Twitter even barred its users from sharing links to The Post’s reporting.”

It was later confirmed that Hunter’s laptop was completely legitimate and investigations into his businesses, including testimony from the president’s son, confirmed many aspects of the Biden Family’s influencing peddling.

Berliner claims that lack of “viewpoint diversity” completely destroyed NPR’s credibility. According to his count, 87 registered Democrats held NPR editorial positions and there are “zero Republicans.”

“So on May 3, 2021, I presented the findings at an all-hands editorial staff meeting. When I suggested we had a diversity problem with a score of 87 Democrats and zero Republicans, the response wasn’t hostile. It was worse,” he wrote. “It was met with profound indifference. I got a few messages from surprised, curious colleagues. But the messages were of the ‘oh wow, that’s weird’ variety, as if the lopsided tally was a random anomaly rather than a critical failure of our diversity North Star.”

“In a follow-up email exchange, a top NPR news executive told me that she had been ‘skewered’ for bringing up diversity of thought when she arrived at NPR. So, she said, ‘I want to be careful how we discuss this publicly.'”

Berliner, Fox News reported, has “been at NPR for 25 years,” and eagerly voted against Donald Trump in both 2016 and 2020. He believes the “advocacy-style coverage of his presidency wrongheaded. He said he’d had regular conversations with news leaders about the homogeneous political culture, to no avail.”

Should we be surprised that Biden recently proposed that NPR get just under $600 million in federal funds?
