More Escalation In Ukraine-Russia War, Putin Blames America

The war in Ukraine appears to taken another step towards escalation, and once again Biden appears to be sleepwalking the United States into World War III. Reports out of Crimea Sunday morning claimed that several were dead and nearly a hundred civilians were wounded in Ukrainian drone and missile attacks.

“Five people — including two children — were killed by falling debris when five Ukrainian missiles were shot down in Sevastopol, a port city in Russia-annexed Crimea, said Mikhail Razvozhayev, the city’s Moscow-installed governor. Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Health Ministry, said 124 people were wounded.

Razvozhayev declared Monday a day of mourning in the city, with public events canceled.

One person was killed and three injured in Russia’s Belgorod region, bordering Ukraine, when three Ukrainian drones attacked the city of Grayvoron, regional Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov said.

Air defenses overnight shot down 33 Ukrainian drones over Russia’s western Bryansk, Smolensk, Lipetsk and Tula regions, the Russian Ministry of Defense said Sunday. No casualties or damage were reported,” according to France 24.

Reuters writes that Russia is pinning the attack squarely on the United States.

Russia said on Sunday that the United States was responsible for a Ukrainian attack on the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula with five U.S.-supplied missiles that killed at least five people including three children and injured 124 more.

The Russian Defence Ministry said four of the U.S.-delivered Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles, equipped with cluster warheads, were shot down by air defence systems and the ammunition of a fifth had detonated in mid-air.

The ministry said U.S. specialists had set the missiles’ flight coordinates on the basis of information from U.S. spy satellites, meaning Washington was directly responsible.

“Responsibility for the deliberate missile attack on the civilians of Sevastopol is borne above all by Washington, which supplied these weapons to Ukraine, and by the Kyiv regime, from whose territory this strike was carried out,” the ministry said.

The alleged escalation from Ukraine is another instance in which Zelensky has appeared to be trying to pull the United States and NATO into the war.

The New York Times reported that “NATO allies are inching closer to sending troops into Ukraine to train Ukrainian forces, a move that would be another blurring of a previous red line and could draw the United States and Europe more directly into the war.

Ukraine’s manpower shortage has reached a critical point, and its position on the battlefield in recent weeks has seriously worsened as Russia has accelerated its advances to take advantage of delays in shipments of American weapons. As a result, Ukrainian officials have asked their American and NATO counterparts to help train 150,000 new recruits closer to the front line for faster deployment.

So far the United States has said no, but Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Thursday that a NATO deployment of trainers appeared inevitable. ‘We’ll get there eventually, over time,'” he claimed.

Biden’s foreign policy has been sleepwalking America into the war. In April, Secretary of State Blinken signaled that Ukraine would eventually be allowed to join NATO.

In May, President Biden lifted a ban on Ukraine using American weapons on targets in Russia. At the time, The Associated Press wrote, “The officials, who requested anonymity to discuss the sensitive matter, underscored that the U.S. policy calling on Ukraine not to use American-provided ATACMS or long-range missiles and other munitions to strike offensively inside Russia has not changed.”

Only a month later, there appears to have been a change, or Zelensky has decided to ignore Biden, knowing he’s already gotten in too deep.

Maybe that’s why Democrats are so eager to double the size of the pool for a potential military draft.
