Upcoming Fauci Testimony Could Be His Last; Update: Did Fauci Fall For Jordan’s Trap?

Update: Did Fauci accidentally walk into a perjury trap laid by Jim Jordan?

One online commentator says yes and the Ohio Republican accidentally signaled what he has planned next for the leader of America’s pandemic response:

Original Story

It’s been a long time in the making, but Anthony Fauci will face Congress for the first time since it was revealed that one of his colleagues instigated a cover-up of the origins of COVID-19.

It’s been years since Fauci faced the music in public.

The Hill writes that “Anthony Fauci, the public face of the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, will offer his first congressional testimony in nearly two years Monday by a GOP-led committee likely to grill him over alleged misconduct that occurred under his leadership of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Fauci is likely to get tough questions from Republicans about what he knew of efforts by another NIAID official accused of evading public records laws.

Over the past month, the select subcommittee has taken testimony from EcoHealth Alliance President Peter Daszak and David Morens, a senior adviser to the NIAID director who worked closely with Fauci

Morens’s testimony did little to endear Republicans to Fauci. Previously publicized emails from Morens suggested Fauci knew of public records misconduct at NIAID and sought to detach himself from it.”

The New York Post reports that House Republicans have asked the Department of Justice to investigate potential criminal charges against the “experts” who were supposed to be protecting the public but instead, allegedly, only protected themselves and their work.

“We want the DOJ to weigh in, hopefully they can do something honestly and fairly,” Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) said in an exclusive interview Thursday. “But at the same time, we can make criminal referrals. I think we should.”

The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has already recommended a criminal probe of Dr. Peter Daszak, the disgraced president of Manhattan-based EcoHealth Alliance, which received millions in US grants that helped fund experiments on modified bat coronaviruses at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).

The panel has also unearthed shocking information about the origins of SARS-CoV-2, the failures of the US pandemic response and taxpayer-funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan, China — the city where the virus emerged more than four years ago.

“The work they were doing was risky,” the chairman noted of the Wuhan experiments, “and, you can see through reverse engineering, was capable of creating something like COVID-19. I started looking at this when we were in lockdown in 2020, through the [House] Intelligence Committee, and what creating a chimera was all about, and what gain-of-function research was about, and it kind of frightened me as far as bioweapons and that’s a new threat going into the future,” added Wenstrup, who is also a doctor and retired US Army colonel.

Fauci himself has been accused of perjury over his testimony regarding whether or not his agency was funding radical, risky experiments in Wuhan.

In anticipation of Fauci’s public testimony, Republicans released a behind-closed-doors interview with the former health adviser to the president in which he revealed he effectively made up rules as he went along during the pandemic.

“Speaking to counsel on behalf of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic earlier this year, Fauci told Republicans that the six foot social distancing rule ‘sort of just appeared’ and that he did not recall how it came about.

‘You know, I don’t recall. It sort of just appeared,’ he said according to committee transcripts when pressed on how the rule came about.

He added he ‘was not aware of studies’ that supported the social distancing, conceding that such studies ‘would be very difficult‘ to do.

In addition to not recalling any evidence supporting social distancing, Fauci also told the committee’s counsel that he didn’t remember reading anything to support that masking kids would prevent COVID,” according to The Daily Mail.

Social distancing, closing schools, and masking children have had major negative impacts on society, with social distancing causing a spike in depression and remote learning harming American children.

A report in 2022 by the National Center for Education Statistics assessed reading and mathematics scores for nine-year-old students to review student achievement during the pandemic. The results were stunning: “Average scores for age 9 students in 2022 declined 5 points in reading and 7 points in mathematics compared to 2020. This is the largest average score decline in reading since 1990, and the first ever score decline in mathematics.”

The study said, “Of the 70 percent of 9-year-olds who learned remotely during the 2020–21 school year, higher performers (those at or above the 75th percentile) had greater access to a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet all the time; a quiet place to work available some of the time; and a teacher available to help them with mathematics or reading schoolwork every day or almost every day compared to lower performers (those below the 25th percentile).”

Fauci’s alleged wrongdoings have become a bipartisan issue, explained Politico. “Democrats on a House investigative panel are starting to join their GOP colleagues in questioning whether government-backed scientists were fully transparent about controversial virus research and whether a longtime adviser to Fauci skirted public records requests.

This newfound Democratic skepticism will be put to the test on Monday when Fauci will testify about whether he was honest about government involvement in risky virus experiments.…Democrats canonized Fauci during the pandemic, while Republicans vilified him. But on May 1, Democrats on the Covid panel sided with the GOP in condemning Peter Daszak, a British zoologist who has received millions in federal research funding, for failing to comply with government rules governing his work with the Chinese lab at the center of the theory that Covid is man-made, the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”

Less than two weeks ago, they again joined Republicans in blasting David Morens, an infectious disease expert who advised Fauci for nearly a quarter-century, for his cozy rapport with Daszak and his use of Gmail to conduct official business.”

“What we all want are facts. There was evidence of things that were not right,” Rep. Debbie Dingell from Michigan, a key senior Democratic member of the panel, recently stated.
