Border security has become a critical focal point in the political arena, especially with the upcoming presidential election and the potential for Kamala Harris to assume the presidential role.
One of the few issues delegated by Biden to Harris is the ongoing crisis that has plagued the current administration as it has tried to pursue liberal open-border policies against the will of the voting public.
Harris spent most of her time speaking on behalf of the White House about immigration attacking Trump, not solving the problem.

According to reporting by The Federalist, Harris “never spoke to either chief of the U.S. Border Patrol under the Biden administration, despite the former California senator’s appointment as the White House ‘border czar’ three years ago.”
More than 1.7 million ‘known got-aways’ have illegally crossed the border since Biden took office, which ‘is higher than the 1.4 million recorded in the entire decade from 2010 to 2020,’ The New York Post reported in May. When asked on the presidential debate stage in 2019 whether she believed lawmakers should decriminalize illegal border crossings, then-Sen. Harris raised her hand in the affirmative.”
With the possibility of a President Harris soon, The Associated Press reports that another caravan of migrants is on the way.
Hundreds of migrants from around a dozen countries left from Mexico’s southern border on foot Sunday, as they attempt to make it to the U.S. border.
Some of the members of the group said they hoped to make it to the U.S. border before elections are held in November, because they fear that if Donald Trump wins, he will follow through on a promise to close the border to asylum-seekers.
“We are running the risk that permits (to cross the border) might be blocked,” said Miguel Salazar, a migrant from El Salvador. He feared that a new Trump administration might stop granting appointments to migrants through CBP One, an app used by asylum-seekers to enter the U.S. legally — by getting appointments at U.S. border posts, where they make their cases to officials.
Migrants trying to pass through Mexico in recent years have organized large groups to try to reduce the risk of being attacked by gangs or stopped by Mexican immigration officials as they travel. But the caravans tend to break up in southern Mexico, as people get tired of walking for hundreds of miles (kilometers).
The permits Salazar mentioned would be obtained through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s CBP One app, which facilitates asylum seekers in scheduling appointments at border crossings. The process only begins once migrants reach Mexico City or the northern regions of the country.
Republicans have attributed the historic border crisis to the Biden administration, alleging it reversed successful Trump-era policies and embraced an “open border” strategy—a claim denied by Biden officials.
At the recent Republican National Convention, numerous high-profile calls were made for increased border security and enforcement. Attendees displayed signs reading “Mass Deportations Now!”
In his speech, Trump stated, “The invasion at our southern border, we will stop it and we will stop it quickly,” emphasizing his commitment to addressing border issues.
Recent polls indicate that Americans prefer lower levels of illegal immigration, posing a significant challenge for Kamala Harris’s campaign. This threat to her chances of victory has prompted allies in the media to adopt a strong propaganda effort to shield her candidacy from the negative impacts of her immigration record.
Several outlets have looked more like Pravda, than a free press, explained Fox News.
“Multiple media outlets insisted Vice President Kamala Harris wasn’t the ‘border czar’ despite being put in charge of the border crisis when she took office, including Axios, which used that exact phrasing in its own past reporting.
Harris was tasked early on in the Biden administration with addressing the root causes of mass migration from Central and South America. That part of her portfolio has emerged as a cornerstone of GOP-led attacks against the de facto Democratic presidential nominee, as states across the country continue to struggle with the migrant crisis.
However, media outlets have suddenly taken issue with the ‘border czar’ moniker that Republicans used to describe her role as Harris heads toward the Democratic White House nomination, suggesting it’s unfair to pin the thorny issue of illegal immigration on her.”

Axios especially received a roasting for what has been compared to Soviet-style reporting.
“The Trump campaign and Republicans have tagged Harris repeatedly with the ‘border czar’ title — which she never actually had,” reporter Stef Kight wrote on Wednesday.
Critics pointed out the outlet reported in 2021 that Harris was “appointed by Biden as border czar.” Another 2021 Axios report, by Kight herself, was headlined, “Biden puts Harris in charge of border crisis.”

I don’t think I’ve seen this one before. They are amending their reporting from three years ago to fit today’s narrative. This is wild. https://t.co/WWL9Phg4ie

Axios wasn’t alone in referring to Harris, until Joe Biden dropped out on Sunday, as “the border czar.” Nearly every member of the media has been referring to Harris by that title for years.

Earlier in the year, Vice President Harris touted job creation in Central America as her big accomplishment in dealing with the ongoing crisis occurring across the southern border.
