The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade experienced a brief disruption on Thursday morning when 21 pro-Palestinian protesters broke through barricades and staged a demonstration on the parade route in Manhattan.
The protest occurred near West 55th Street around 9:30 a.m., specifically targeting the Ronald McDonald float for the second year in a row. Demonstrators chanted “Free, free Palestine!” as they locked arms and sat down on the street, while others displayed a banner reading, “Don’t celebrate genocide! Arms embargo now.”
The New York Post writes anti-Israel protesters tried to ruin the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the second year running Thursday, with cops quickly swarming in to make more than 20 arrests.
Photos showed protesters sitting in the parade’s path, with some carrying a large banner reading: “Don’t celebrate genocide!”
NYPD officers quickly descended upon the group, who shouted “Free, free Palestine!” as they were tackled to the ground and placed in handcuffs.
The footage also captured protesters holding the banner scuffling with cops before they thrown onto the ground and handcuffed on top of their crumpled-up sign.
Many in the crowd chanted “USA! USA! USA!” as the protesters were quickly taken away.
The disruption delayed the parade for roughly five minutes before it resumed without further incident. Police arrested all 21 protesters, with charges against them still pending.
This incident underscores the continued radicalization of the left and their willingness to attack American traditions. Earlier in the week, pro-Palestine activists allegedly sent a bomb to the house of Lee Zeldin, a former Republican congressman from New York who President Trump has tapped to lead the EPA.
Over the past few weeks, Democrats have reckoned with the rejection of “woke politics.” Despite being an ardent supporter of Israel, Donald Trump received a record number of support from Muslim voters in his race against Kamala Harris for president.
