Emmanuel “Manny” Hostin, a well-known New York orthopedic surgeon and husband of “The View” co-host, and famous Trump hater, Sunny Hostin, has been named among more than 200 defendants in a large-scale federal insurance fraud lawsuit. Filed on December 17, the case is being described as one of the most significant Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) lawsuits ever pursued in New York.

The lawsuit, brought forth by the American Transit Insurance Company, accuses Hostin and other defendants of engaging in fraudulent billing schemes and accepting illicit financial kickbacks in connection with medical procedures. Specifically, Hostin is alleged to have submitted improper claims for arthroscopic surgeries and other medical services under questionable circumstances, according to a report from The Daily Mail.

He and many of the others are accused or getting kickbacks by performing surgery and fraudulently billing a company that insures taxi companies and Uber and Lyft drivers.

‘Hostin knowingly provided fraudulent medical and other healthcare services including arthroscopic surgeries,’ the lawsuit, filed on December 17, claims.

The insurance firm American Transit was then billed ‘in exchange for kickbacks and/or other compensation which were disguised as dividends or other cash distributions.’

Hostin’s attorney Daniel Thwaites told DailyMail.com his client ‘denies each and every allegation’ and called the lawsuit a ‘blanket, scattershot, meritless lawsuit by a near-bankrupt insurance carrier.’

He said Hostin has an ‘impeccable’ record, adding: ‘American Transit has rushed into the lawsuit without ever conducting an examination of Dr. Hostin or expressing any concerns to his lawyers.

Sunny Hostin, 56, has shared nearly 25 years of marriage with her husband. The couple exchanged vows in 1998 and are proud parents to two children. They reside in an expansive 10-bedroom, 10-bathroom estate located in Purchase, New York.

Their story began in Maryland, where they first crossed paths at a church. At the time, Emmanuel was completing his medical education, graduating from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1996.

Sunny may have revealed her husband’s alleged scheme while appearing to justify the murder of United Health CEO Brian Thompson during an episode of “The View.”

Hostin recently caused waves by making comments that were labeled “unhinged” on the daytime talk show. The New York Post noted that she “was lambasted Monday for comparing the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol Building to both the Holocaust and slavery.

‘I think we need to find moral clarity, you know, in this country,’ Hostin said on the four-year anniversary of the day supporters of President-elect Donald Trump stormed the Capitol to delay the certification of President Biden’s 2020 election victory.

The former federal prosecutor then brazenly compared the riot to the Nazi campaign to exterminate the Jews, as well as the legal institution that treated enslaved people as personal property.

‘And when you think about the worst moments in American history, you know, like World War II, things that happened, you know, like the Holocaust, chattel slavery – we need to never forget because the past becomes prologue if you forget and erase,'” Hostin said.

In 2014, ABC transferred oversight of “The View” from its daytime entertainment division to Lincoln Square Productions, a subsidiary of ABC News. Hostin isn’t the only anchor at ABC News to have made insane comments about Donald Trump. The company recently agreed to pay the incoming president’s foundation and museum for his future presidential library $15 million to settle a defamation suit related to comments from its top news host, George Stephanopoulos.
