Another day, another Democrat making threats. Representative Jamie Raskin, a Democrat from Maryland, has issued a forewarning to foreign governments who are working with President Donald Trump to mitigate the millions who came to the United States illegally under Joe Biden.
In a recent interview on Pod Save America, Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, cautioned that international leaders supporting Trump’s extreme immigration strategies — especially those involving foreign detention facilities — could face political consequences if Democrats regain power.
🚨Radical leftist Jamie Raskin says his political opposition will face repercussions for unleashing “fascist chaos” should Dems regain power:

“If and when we return to power — and we will — we won’t look favorably on those who aided authoritarianism in America,” Raskin, 62, emphasized, singling out El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele.
Bukele recently visited Trump at the White House and has been collaborating with the administration on hardline deportation efforts. One such effort involves the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT), a high-security prison in El Salvador, which has controversially been used to house deportees under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 — a rarely used law Trump has revived to sidestep standard legal procedures.
Raskin’s remarks came in response to a question from host Tommy Vietor, who floated the idea of using sanctions or cutting foreign aid as potential responses to countries engaging in what critics have labeled “extraordinary rendition” — the extrajudicial transfer of individuals, including U.S. residents, wrote The New York Post.
Raskin added that his party needs to engage “in far more work of transnational Democrat solidarity” to try and “prevent the spread of lawlessness and the fascist chaos that’s been unleashed against us.”
Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, has emerged as one of the most vocal critics of Trump in Congress.
He had previously been a top defender of Hunter Biden from GOP-backed inquiries into the scandal-scarred first son.
“Donald Trump is a convicted criminal. Could he be sent off to a foreign prison?,” he mused.
“We’ve got to become the leaders of a nationwide popular movement to arrest the descent into fascism in America,” he argued before pivoting to slamming tech guru Elon Musk’s kindred spirits in Silicon Valley.
Although Trump’s deportation policies have mainly targeted undocumented immigrants, he also touched on the conspiracy theory that Trump will also “deport” U.S. citizens.
Conspiracy theories like Raskin have long been used by radicals to justify violent actions. The same ideas were part of a recent radical manifesto that came out of George Mason University, arguing that the time to use violence against conservatives was coming.
Before the 2024 election, Raskin insisted that Trump should not be eligible for the presidency because of the January 6, 2021, mobbing of the Capitol and was a loud advocate among Democrats who argued that his party should not accept the outcome of the vote and block Trump from taking the White House.
Had Kamala Harris won the last presidential election, Raskin would most likely have been her radical attorney general.
The Daily Caller has noted that “Raskin is a Jan. 6 zealot.
The high-ranking Democrat, one of the seven who was appointed to the House Select Committee investigating the events of Jan. 6, believed that protesters acted as full-on insurrectionists who deserved to be punished as such. In the years that followed, he didn’t simply pay lip service to the Democratic Party’s narrative that Jan. 6 was the worst attack on American democracy since the Civil War; he truly believed it.
Raskin made the narrative a crucial part of his ideology and how he sees his fellow citizens: Anyone who doesn’t think that Jan. 6 was the beginning of the end of American democracy, anyone who would continue supporting President Trump after such a catastrophic assault on the Capitol, is nothing less than a fascist.
So it’s pretty alarming when someone like Jamie Raskin makes such an ominous threat about someone else who disagrees with him politically.”
He shouldn’t be anywhere near power, but as the Democratic Party, like many other liberal institutions, has been taken over by their radical wing, he’s likely just biding his time.
