Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed Wednesday that the FBI is still processing a staggering cache of child pornography videos tied to Jeffrey Epstein, a backlog that’s now stalling the public release of key documents in the case. The volume—described as “tens of thousands” of files—underscores the scale of Epstein’s operation and the enduring complexity of the investigation, nearly six years after his death.
Early in Donald Trump’s term, several members of his administration promised that the evidence collected about Epstein would be released to the public.
“The FBI is methodically reviewing an enormous quantity of video evidence involving Epstein and the sexual exploitation of minors,” Bondi told reporters. She stressed that victim protection remains paramount. “No identifying information will be made public. Not now, not ever.”

Bondi’s statements followed House Oversight Chairman James Comer’s comments earlier in the week that speculated that the Epstein files had been destroyed, explained Mediate.
Comer turned up the heat with an appearance on The Benny Show this week in which, among other things, he ranted that “they’re probably in there shredding documents as we speak.”
“I don’t think the Department of Justice has them or at least the attorney general does not have them or she would have turned them over. The president ordered them released. The attorney general ordered them released. We all know they have not been released,” Comer said to podcast host Benny Johnson on Tuesday.
Earlier in the year, unsealed court documents from a civil suit against Ghislaine Maxwell revealed several additional Democratic donors connected to Epstein. Among those named is Thomas Pritzker, the billionaire Hyatt Hotels executive chairman and cousin to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who was implicated in testimony by Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.
In a deposition, Giuffre claimed she had sex with Pritzker once, an allegation he has vehemently denied, with his spokesperson calling it a “false and isolated” claim. The documents also reference Giuffre’s account of being sent by Maxwell to an unnamed “owner of a large hotel chain” in France, though Pritzker is not explicitly named in that instance. Pritzker has not been charged in connection with Epstein’s case, but his inclusion in the documents, alongside other Democratic donors like Reid Hoffman—who previously apologized for his Epstein ties—adds further complexity to the ongoing fallout from Epstein’s crimes, as the FBI continues to review thousands of related videos and files.
Epstein, who died in a federal jail cell in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges, left behind more than scandal—he left a digital trail implicating hundreds of potential victims and possibly dozens of powerful associates, wrote The Daily Caller Despite being a registered sex offender since 2008, Epstein remained in the orbit of celebrities, royals, and billionaires, including Prince Andrew, filmmaker Woody Allen, L Brands mogul Leslie Wexner, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates—who, according to 2021 reporting, met with Epstein multiple times as recently as 2019, against the advice of his then-wife, Melinda Gates.
The FBI’s drawn-out review has prompted growing public frustration. During an April 22 event, President Donald Trump was asked about the stalled document release. “I’ll speak to the attorney general about that,” he said, reiterating his administration’s broader push for declassification, including files tied to JFK and Martin Luther King Jr.
Bondi’s office released an initial set of documents in February, but the broader archive remains locked down while federal agents continue to sort through Epstein’s evidence trove—one tape, one name, one potential victim at a time.
